The print
Send us a photograph or a piece of artwork you love, and we print it as a museum-quality giclée in New York, with archival pigment inks on fine-art paper.
Before printing: we check every file and send you a proof to approve. If you choose a Refinement, our retoucher corrects colour and light, cleans up distractions or restores an old or damaged photograph, and nothing is printed until you approve it.
The papers: Cotton rag, matte, for a soft, velvety finish; Baryta, satin, for the depth of a darkroom print; Textured etching, for paintings and drawings.
Framing: choose unframed, or framed by hand in New York behind museum glass with a cotton mat, in gallery black, gallery white, natural oak, American walnut or antique gilt.
Please send only images you own or have permission to reproduce.
Papers & framing
Archival pigment inks on acid-free fine-art paper: cotton rag (matte), baryta (satin) or textured etching.
Framed prints are framed by hand in New York behind museum glass with a cotton mat.
Unframed prints ship flat with a protective interleaf.
Timeline & delivery
A proof for your approval within 2 business days.
Printed and finished in about 3–5 business days after approval; framed prints in about 1–2 weeks.
Insured, tracked shipping in gallery-grade packaging.
Care

Our guarantee
Every Maison Septième portrait is made to order for you, so we cannot accept returns of finished custom work. Instead, every commission includes the approvals, revisions and guarantee below.
Our likeness and quality guarantee
If your finished portrait does not capture the likeness of your approved photo, or has a flaw in craftsmanship, we will correct or repaint it at no cost to you.
Revisions included
- Composition mockup: up to two rounds of changes to the layout, background and crop before painting begins.
- Finished piece: one round of adjustments after you see the completed portrait and before it is framed.
- Changes requested after you approve the finished portrait, or changes to a new photo, size or medium, are quoted separately.
Payment and cancellations
- Orders placed on our website are paid in full at checkout. Commissions arranged through a private consultation may be reserved with a 50% deposit, with the balance due once you approve the finished portrait, before framing.
- You may cancel for a full refund within 48 hours of payment, as long as your artist has not begun work.
- Once your artist has begun an Oil or Paper portrait, 50% of the price (or your full deposit) is non-refundable, because it covers the artist's time and materials.
- Studio Collection orders may be cancelled for a full refund until your artist begins, usually within 2 business days of ordering.

Every shipment is insured. If your portrait arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the box and the artwork. We will repair or replace it at no cost.
