Photo Guidelines
Your portrait can only be as beautiful as the photo it comes from. These simple guidelines help your artist capture every detail.
The best photos
- Sharp and in focus, especially the eyes.
- Natural light, near a window or outdoors in soft daylight. Avoid harsh flash and deep shadows.
- Taken at eye level, not from above.
- No filters or heavy editing, so colors stay true.
- High resolution: send the original file, not a screenshot or a photo from social media.
Several people or pets
You may send a separate photo of each person or pet, and your artist will bring them together in one portrait. Try to choose photos with similar lighting.
Memorial portraits
Older or imperfect photos can still work beautifully. Send everything you have, and we will choose the best together during your consultation.
Not sure?
Upload your photos and we will tell you honestly whether they will work before you pay a deposit. If a photo isn't right, we will ask for another rather than paint from a weak one.
