Photo Rights and Usage

Your photos

By uploading a photo, you confirm that you took it yourself or have permission to use it for a portrait. Photos taken by a professional photographer, such as wedding or family session photos, are usually owned by that photographer. Please ask for their permission before ordering; most are happy to say yes.

We use your photos only to create your portrait. Our partner artists receive your photos and an order number, never your name or address.

Your finished portrait

The physical portrait is yours. Maison Septième and the artist keep the copyright to the artwork, as is standard for commissioned art, which means the portrait may not be reproduced for sale. You are always welcome to share photos of it with family and friends and on your own social media.

Sharing your portrait

We would love to show your portrait in our gallery and on social media, but we will only do so with your permission. Memorial portraits and portraits of children are never shared without your explicit consent, and you may withdraw permission at any time.
